On 6 December, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov met with the Regional Director of the French Development Agency (AFD) for the Western Balkans, Turkey, the Caucasus and Central Asia, Mathieu Wasser.
At the meeting, the current progress in the implementation of joint projects and agreements was discussed, in particular, within the framework of the agreed program for 2023-2025.
The prospects for the development of partnership between Uzbekistan and AFD were also considered.
The parties agreed to hold five annual bilateral consultations in early 2024 to discuss further plans to expand financial and technical cooperation.
The AFD Partnership Agreement for 2023-2025 includes funding through grants, technical assistance and loans. The total amount of funding provided to date exceeds US$1 billion.
